TL;DR. We respect your privacy. Your photos are processed to generate stickers and are not stored on our servers. All your sticker packs live on your device. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
01 Information we collect
When you use AI Stickers, we collect the following types of information:
- Photos and face data. The selfies you voluntarily upload contain your face. This face data is collected solely when you explicitly tap the "Upload a selfie" button and pick a photo from your device's photo library. See Section 03 for a detailed explanation of how face data is handled.
- Pack information. Pack names and preferences you set within the app to organize your stickers.
- Usage data. Information about how you interact with the app, such as features used and stickers generated.
- Purchase information. If you buy sticker credits, transaction details are processed securely through Apple's App Store.
02 How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate AI-powered stickers based on your selfies
- Organize your sticker packs and save them on your device
- Process in-app purchases and manage your sticker credits
- Improve our app and develop new features
- Provide customer support when needed
03 Face data
Because AI Stickers generates personalized stickers from your selfie, the photos you upload contain your face. We want to be completely transparent about how this face data is handled.
What face data we collect. The only face data we process is the selfie image you choose to upload from your device's photo library. We do not collect facial geometry, facial recognition templates, face embeddings, biometric identifiers, or any derivative face signature. We do not use Apple's Face ID, Vision framework face detection, ARKit face tracking, or any on-device face analysis API. The face data is the raw photo itself, nothing more.
How we collect it. Face data is only collected when you take an explicit action: you tap "Upload a selfie," iOS presents the standard system photo picker, and you manually select a photo. No photo is ever accessed, read, or uploaded without this explicit user action.
How we use it. The selfie is used for one purpose only: to generate AI sticker images that look like you. Each time you tap "Generate" on a sticker, the selfie is sent together with a text prompt (e.g. "thumbs up," "heart eyes") to Google's Gemini API, which returns a newly generated sticker image. The selfie is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, facial recognition, identity verification, training AI models, or any purpose other than generating the stickers you request.
Who we share it with. The selfie is transmitted to one third party: Google LLC, through the Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com). We use Google Gemini on the paid tier, under which Google's terms state that customer data is not used to train or improve Google's models and is not retained beyond a short abuse-monitoring window (up to 24 hours). Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Cloud Generative AI Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Face data is not shared with any other third party.
Where it is stored. We do not operate any server or database that stores your face data. AI Stickers has no backend of its own for face data. The selfie travels from your device, to Google's API over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the generated sticker comes back to your device. The original selfie and the generated stickers are stored locally on your device only, inside the app's sandbox. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, because we have none for this purpose.
How long it is retained.
- On our side: zero retention. We never receive, store, or log face data on any server we control.
- On your device: for as long as you keep the sticker pack. You can delete any pack at any time from inside the app, which removes the selfie and all associated stickers. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
- On Google's side: under the Google Cloud Generative AI paid tier, face data is retained only for a short abuse-monitoring window (up to 24 hours per Google's published terms) and is not used to train Google's models.
User consent. You authorize the transmission of your selfie to Google Gemini each time you deliberately tap the "Generate" button on a sticker. This is an explicit, user-initiated action; no face data is ever transmitted in the background, automatically, or without a direct tap from you.
In short. We do not build facial recognition. We do not create face templates. We do not store your selfie on any server. The selfie goes from your device → Google Gemini (paid tier) → sticker back to your device. You can delete it at any time.
04 Third-party services
We use trusted third-party services to provide our features:
- Google Gemini (Nano Banana, paid tier). We use Google's
gemini-2.5-flash-imagemodel to generate your stickers. Your selfie is sent togenerativelanguage.googleapis.comover HTTPS, processed, and a generated sticker is returned. Under the paid tier, Google does not use this data to train its models and retains it only briefly for abuse monitoring. Governed by the Google Cloud Generative AI Terms and the Google Privacy Policy. - Apple App Store. For processing in-app purchases of sticker credits.
- WhatsApp. When you export a pack to WhatsApp, the stickers are sent to the WhatsApp app on your device using Apple's sharing system. We do not transmit them anywhere else.
These services have their own privacy policies and handle data according to their terms, which provide the same or equivalent protection as this policy.
05 Data security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All network traffic to Google Gemini is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption
- Sticker packs stored locally on your device, not in the cloud
- No backend server operated by us handles your face data
06 Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (note: we hold none of your face data on our servers)
- Delete any sticker pack at any time from within the app, which immediately removes the associated selfie and stickers from your device
- Remove all app data by uninstalling AI Stickers
- Contact us with questions about your privacy
07 Children's privacy
AI Stickers is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
